You will be categorised as a consumer under the Bulk Residents category if u stay in the following premises:
- Apartment Buildings: A building consisting of several independent apartments/ rooms/ flats.
- Multi-storeyed Buildings: Buildings having four or more floors excluding basement.
- Residential Colonies: A colony built and maintained by Govt. or other Agencies for their employees/ inmates.
- Housing Complexes: A well-defined area with boundary within which several houses are constructed by independent house owners on lease/ sale basis.
Power Supply shall be generally at a single point unless mutually agreed. The power supply can be given separately to the lawful occupants of the individual flats or houses (the point of supply shall be the point as defined under Rule 58 of the I.E. Rules 1956).
How do we supply?
Apartment Buildings & Multi-storeyed
We can provide power to the occupants of flats in Multi-storied Buildings/ Apartment Buildings through individual service connection or at a single point for the entire building complex. The incoming supply shall be a 3 phase 4 core cable or few single core cables of appropriate rating depending upon maximum load, ambient temperature and the method of laying the cable.
For Housing Complexes & Residential Colonies
The point of commencement of supply shall be at the outgoing terminals of a switch fuse unit/circuit breaker of suitable rating located within a switch room immediately adjacent to the boundary wall. Power supply shall be at 3 phase LT or at HT (11 KV or 33 KV) as the case may be. A 3 phase service connection with neutral through cable shall be drawn from the nearest L.T. Distribution Pole/11/0.4 KV or 33/0.4 KV substation. The owner will connect his distribution system feeding the colony through cut-outs placed after the point of commencement of supply. The supplier shall install a three phase 4 wire unbalanced meter at the point of commencement of supply for billing purpose.
In a Housing Complexes if the licensee takes over the external installation through a special agreement, the independent house owners may provide independent 3 phase or single phase meters, with cut-outs as required on a meter board inside their independent premises confirming to Regulation 54 of the Code. The meters can be installed in a common area for group of houses also.
How do we Meter your Supply?
Multi-storeyed Building/Apartment Building
In case of a single point supply the metering shall be at the point of commencement of supply.
Apartments/flats/rooms of multi-storeyed Building/Apartment If Building after completion are sold out to different owners the meters shall be fixed for each independent owner of Flats/Rooms etc, in a meter Board near L.T. Switch Board in basement to ground floor (supply will be given to lawful occupants of the flat after observing all formalities). Disconnection to individual owners shall be afforded through sealable cut-outs provided in the meter Board, wherever required.
Housing Complexes In case of a single point supply the metering shall be at the point of commencement of supply. If the Licensee takes over the external installations within the boundary, and in case the independent houses of Housing complex after completion are sold out to different owners, the meters shall be fixed for each independent house on a meter board in the premises or in a common area for a group as per existing regulations and procedures. In this case the licensee has got the rights to have access up to the meter point as per existing regulations and procedures.
Residential Colonies In case of a single point supply the metering shall be at the point of commencement of supply.
